Your Clinical Care Pathway
Assessment may include kidney tests, ultrasound and measurement of urine left after voiding.
Some patients need urodynamic testing through urology.
Treatment can involve timed emptying, medicines or catheter-based bladder drainage after instruction.
Expected benefits and limitations
The aims are safer bladder pressures and emptying, fewer troublesome urinary symptoms and protection of the kidneys. Treatment and monitoring depend on individual risk; complete recovery of bladder control is not always possible.
